The Detroit Lions did indeed fire coach Steve Mariucci and replaced him on an interim basis with defensive coordinator Dick Jauron. My advice to Jauron is to not take this job if it is offered to him as a permanent thing. The Detroit Lions are, with the possible exception of the Chicago/St. Louis/Phoenix/Arizona Cardinals, the most poorly run basket case of a franchise in the National Football League. The Lions organization wastes player and coaching talent and has been doing so ever since the Ford family took over ownership in the early 1960s. It is just not worth it to get too involved with this dysfunctional train wreck of an organization, and so I would caution Dick Jauron against becoming the permanent head coach of the Detroit Lions.

The Indianapolis Colts did beat Pittsburgh, so looks like I was wrong about that one.

Michigan women's basketball will beat Central Michigan tonight. I will end up being right about that one.
