It was quite a good Thursday night for Detroit sports.

The Tigers beat the Yankees 7-6, breaking a four game losing streak and gaining a 2 and a half game lead on second place Chicago.

Meanwhile, just up I-75 at the Palace of Auburn Hills, the Shock won a close one by a final of 64-63. Deanna Nolan tallied the winning score with 1.4 seconds to go, then the Detroit "D" held off New York's final attempt. The Shock are tied for second place with Connecticut, a half game behind Eastern Division leading Indiana.

The Pistons face the Heat at Miami tonight in a must-win Game Six of the Eastern finals. It should be a great game.
