Miami defeated the Pistons in game six, ending the Pistons' championship hopes. Strange but true factoid...in the last three games of this series, the losing team scored exactly 78 points. In general defense dominated in this series, as no team managed to score 100 or more points in any game.

The Shock split two road games over the weekend, losing badly at Washington and defeating Chicago. They are now 4-2 on the season, with a trip to Los Angeles next.

The Tigers lost to Boston, but remain two and a half games ahead of the White Sox as the White Sox also lost.

In NCAA softball, the finals matchup is set and once again it involves a Big Ten team. Last season it was my favorites, the Michigan Wolverines. This time it is Northwestern, who faces Arizona in a three game championship series.

That's all from the Sports Desk for now. Tune in later for more.
