Saddam Hussein's trial is underway in Baghdad, with the former Iraqi dictator pleading innocent and getting into a fight with guards.

While Hussein is undoubtedly a Guilty Lowlife, the same could be said for many past and present leaders of the United States Government. People like George W. Bush, John Kerry, Dick Cheney, Bill Clinton, and Henry Kissinger have all been involved in various and sundry acts of violence, injustices, and violations of the rights of humans and other living things. Those named in the previous sentence and others should be on trial along with their one time buddy Saddam. Let us not forget, although the US Gov't would very much like us to, that it was none other than Uncle Sam who helped to create the monster called Saddam Hussein in the first place. Along with many other monsters with names such as Marcos, Pinochet, Somoza, Batista, etc, etc, ad nauseam.

Until the United States public wakes up to this rank hypocracy and double standard, it is hard to get too enthusiastic about the prosecution of someone like Saddam Hussein. Not when I know that my own government is just as guilty, and if not changed will only continue to create more Saddam Husseins in the future.
