Looks like I was wrong about the women's NCAA champion as well, as Maryland beat Duke in a thrilling overtime final game. Duke led by 13 at one point and looked to be in good shape. But the Terrapins chipped away at the deficit and tied it with a three pointer to force the extra session. It was a low scoring overtime, with Maryland doing what they needed to do to get the win.

Since the Chicago White Sox lost their second game, the Detroit Tigers are for the nonce all alone in first place in the American League Central division. They will try to stay there with a win over Kansas City in a game that starts shortly. If they can win that game, they will join the Pistons and the Red Wings as three Detroit teams in first place at the same time. Of course, the Pistons and Red Wings have been consistently good of late while the Tigers have struggled, but it is early in the season so we will see what we will see, now won't we?
